Rename document/folder Google Drive

Renaming an item is a very simple procedure in Google Drive. It can be done on a single document or folder.

  1. Click the desired document or folder.
  2. Click the three dots in the top bar, then click Rename in the list. You also can right-click on the document or folder, then click Rename in the list.
  3. In the Rename dialog that appears, the document or folder name will be highlighted in blue. Type the new name. As you type the old name will be replaced. Press Backspace on your keyboard if you make a mistake.
  4. Press the OK button. Or press the Cancel button, if you do not want to change the name.
